Laura Beyer
Children’s Ministry Director

Laura joined the staff of NewLife in the summer of 2015. Laura grew up in Oskaloosa and was active with her family in Central Reformed Church for many years. She went on to study Nursing at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.
While in college, Laura married her high school sweetheart Chad, who she had met while attending Teens Encounter Christ at age 16.
After college, Chad and Laura moved to Pleasant Hill to pursue careers. Laura took a job in the Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital where she practiced nursing for 10 years. Laura enjoyed working as a nurse but has taken a break for now as she raises a family and serves at NewLife. Chad works as an Operations Manager in the Technology department at Baker Group in Ankeny.
Chad and Laura started attending NewLife Church in 2007 and love the relationships and joy they experience by being part of this church family! They enjoy all things Children’s Ministry-related and the many GROW opportunities at NewLife.
Chad and Laura have been blessed with four young girls; Olivia, Ruby, Hazel and Vera. They now live in the country and enjoy their small farmstead. In Laura’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family, going on play dates with her children, Bible study with her accountability friends, traveling, gardening, and going to movies with her husband.

Laura is excited to continue leading the Children’s Ministry, getting to know our youngest generation of the church and working with the amazing volunteers!
